Toddler at a water theme park

Kids love a theme park, but when you’ve got a toddler in tow you need to know there are enough attractions to keep them occupied — as well as suitable facilities. Here’s a round-up of 10 great theme parks for your whole family to visit, including little ones.

Peppa Pig World
New Forest, Hampshire

Ever wanted to meet Peppa Pig? This is the place to do it. Head to Peppa Pig World and your little one can meet her favourite characters, take flight on Peppa’s Balloon Ride, splash about in the Muddy Puddle Water Park and venture inside Peppa’s house, amongst other activities. Children under one metre tall can enter the park for free.

Diggerland
Cullumpton, Devon

Has your child ever driven a digger, or been behind the wheel of a mini tractor? Diggerland is the ultimate place for a toddler who loves construction — as you might have guessed, every ride is built around a digger, landrover or tractor. From dumper trucks and JCBs to merry-go-rounds and playing digger dippy ducks, this theme park promises exciting — and bumpy — memories.

Flamingo Land
Malton, Yorkshire

This is a theme park with a difference — there’s a zoo within Flamingo Land theme park where kids can see exotic animals like penguins, giraffes and meerkats, as well as birds, farm animals and, of course, flamingos. Once you’ve had your fill of animals, head to the Children’s Planet for exciting junior rides and rollercoasters, soft play and a water play area full of soaking fun. Chessington World of Adventures
Chessington, Surrey

A stone’s throw from London, Chessington World of Adventures definitely has something for everyone, with a zoo, aquarium and more than 40 exciting rides. For 2015, the penguins from Dreamworks’ smash hit movie Madagascar have taken over the park, so expect a fun live show, penguin-themed rides and a Madagascan-themed bedroom for those who fancy staying over in the on-site hotel.

Legoland

It doesn’t matter if your little one hasn’t quite discovered Lego yet — Legoland offers a fascinating day out for kids of all ages, giving them the taste of a world more miniature than they are. There is so much to see and do at Thomas Land, which is a special themed area inside Drayton Manor Theme Park. You’ll find life-sized Thomas the Tank Engine characters, rides and themed adventure play areas. Once your little one has had their fill of Harold’s Helicopter Tour and driving around at Terence’s Driving School, head to the station café for a refreshing bite before hitting the Thomas Land Shop to pick up a special train-themed memento.

This group of theme parks is aimed squarely at toddlers and younger children. And when your little one has had enough, you can head out of the gate and onto Blackpool Pleasure Beach for a paddle.
